Second year in running, Dublin fashion festival's Young designer of the year is definitely becoming
more and more popular. The show was held in the courtyard of the Bank of Ireland on College green and showcased some of the best talent in Ireland. It was a celebrity studded event, hosted by the fabulous Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon. The designs were out of this world and no doubt judges had a though decision to make.
The winner of the Young designer of the year 2014 was Ciaran Gormley with his stunning cobalt blue knitted dress.

Take a look at the 12 finalists and their amazing designs:

Winner - Ciaran Gormley

One that stood out for us on the night was this white creation by Sophie Wallace. Can't wait to see more of her work.

Another one of my favourites was this teal knitwear by very talented Claire McElduff. Her collection will be on sale in Irish Couture boutique based in Powerscourt centre.

Last year's winner Claire Lynam, who became an in house designer for River Island in London after winning the show.

We really enjoyed the show and cannot wait to see more from these up and comming designers. We are sure will be hearing about them again!
